I printed up my manuscript today and started reading it.

Is it horribly immodest to say I’m happy with it?

That’s not to say I can’t find a thousand faults with it — I do. Anything as small as a typo and anything as big as wondering if I should introduce a character sooner. And I’m still torn on whether my first chapter ends too soon. And and and.

But.

I think it’s fun. It’s entertaining. I like my guy. I’m not bored. These are good things!

So far, I’m keeping good on my promise to myself to read without editing, highlighting or note-taking. I do, however, have highlighters in about 10 colors ready to go.
